The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale: Recapping The Prelims

Marcus Brimage defeated Stephen Bass by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
My Prediction: Bass by Submission 2nd Round
My Rating: $$1/2
What Happened: Brimage was in control for the majority of the first 2 rounds despite suffering 2 accidental low blows in the 2nd round.  Brimage was able to keep the fight in his favour by using good takedown defense.  The 3rd round saw Bass comeback with a knockdown late in the round but it was too little too late as only one judge scored the round in his favour.

John Albert defeated Dustin Pague by TKO 1:09 1st Round
My Prediction: Pague by Decision
My Rating: $$
What Happened: The fighters trade strikes as the round starts and it was Albert who landed the most significant blow with a big right hand that floored Hague.  From there Albert worked to improve his position while unloading ground and pound on Hague until the referee seen enough and stepped in to save Hague.

Roland Delorme defeated Josh Ferguson by Submission :22 3rd Round
My Prediction: Delorme by Submission 2nd Round
My Rating: $$1/2
What Happened: Delorme was outgunned in the standup and seemed to have a pretty even battle on the ground but he eventually worked for a submission win.  The first round saw him have a triangle locked in for a long time but credit Ferguson for eventually fighting out of it and getting his own advantageous position as he briefly worked to get Delorme's back.  It was Delorme's persistence that payed off as he hit Ferguson with a quick jab in the opening seconds of the final round Delorme smoothly jumps on the dazed Ferguson's back and locked in the rear naked choke for his first career UFC win.

Steven Siler defeated Josh Clopton by Unanimous Decision (29-28, 29-28,29-28)
My Prediction: Siler by Decision
My Rating: $$1/2
What Happened: Silver was able to dominate the first 2 rounds by controlling Clopton with an impressive clinch while unloading knees, elbows and punches.  He let the 3rd round slip from him as Clopton was able to score some takedowns but Clopton was unable to inflict any damage and recover from the work Siler did in the first 2 rounds.

Bryan Caraway defeated Dustin Neace by Submission 3:38 2nd Round
My Prediction: Caraway by Decision
My Rating: $$
What Happened: Caraway landed a big left hand in the 1st round that rocked Neace but it was his experience on the ground that ultimately got him the win.  Threatening with submissions off his back in the 1st round Caraway wasn't able to get the finish but takedowns in the 2nd allowed Caraway to eventually get Neace's back and sink in the rear naked choke for the submission win.
