The Ultimate Fighter 14 Finale: Recapping The Main Card

Michael Bisping defeated Jason Miller by TKO 3:34 3rd Round
My Prediction: Bisping by Decision
My Rating: $$1/2
What Happened: Unfortunately the highly anticipated match between the coaches ended up in a pretty one sided affair.  Miller have some very brief moments of success as he did score a takedown in the first round and nearly worked into a full mount position but it was Bisping who eventually used the cage to get back to his feet and score some points with his strikes to possibly take the round from Miller.  The 2nd round saw Bisping really take control of the fight as he started to pick apart Miller on the feet and Miller was noticeably fatigued as the round wore on.  Miller proved to be a tough fight to finish though as he egged Bisping on with his hands down by his side and Bisping obliged Miller's wishes as he continued to pepper Miller's face with punches.  The 3rd round started and it seemed it was just a matter of time that Miller would falter, it was on a failed takedown attempt that opened that opportunity for Bisping as he jumped on the covering up Miller with an attack of punches, hammerfists and knees to the body which the referee gave Miller every chance to defend him self but ultimately was forced to call a halt to the bout.

Diego Brandao defeated Dennis Bermudez by Submission 4:51 1st Round
My Prediction: Brandao by TKO 1st Round
My Rating: $$$$
What Happened: In one of the most entertaining Ultimate Fighter final fights in recent memory it was Brandao who survived a scare against Bermudez and pulled out an impressive arm bar submission in what also could be consider one of the best comeback fights of the year.  Brandao got into the finals with his high aggressive but it worked against him against Bermudez as Bermudez nailed a stiff forearm to the charging Brazilian which sent him to the mat.  Bermudez attacked Brandao on the ground looking for a finish but an alert and recovered Brandao was able to grab an arm in the flurry and flip Bermudez over in an incredible arm bar attempt that stopped the fight.

John Dodson defeated T.J. Dillashaw by TKO 1:54 1st Round
My Prediction: Dillaway by Decision
My Rating: $$
What Happened: In a quick bout it was Dodson proving his quickness would be the deciding factor in this fight.  A big counter left by Dodson was the beginning of the end for Dillashaw who was wobbled by the strike and Dodson did not allow any time for him to recover and he pounced on Dillashaw with more strikes which forced the referee to stop the bout and make Dodson the first ever Bantamweight Ultimate Fighter winner.

Tony Ferguson defeated Yves Edwards by Unanimous Decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28)
My Prediction: Ferguson by TKO 2nd Round
My Rating: $$1/2
What Happened: In a fight much closer than the score cards reflected it was Ferguson extending his UFC win streak to 3 with a win over veteran Edwards.  In a back and forth affair decided mostly on the feet it was Ferguson who was the more aggressive fighter landing the more powerful strikes throughout the fight.  Edwards as always proved to be a tough opponent and had he share of scoring strikes in the bout mainly by way of kicks and in the 2nd bloodied Ferguson nose up with some punches,

Johnny Bedford defeated Louis Gaudinot by TKO 1:58 3rd Round
My Prediction: Bedford by Decision
My Rating: $$
What Happened: Bedford completely dominated the entire fight in every area it went.  The first round saw Bedford score a takedown which eventually saw him move to full mount.  From there Bedford dropped some ground and pound on Gaudinot with elbows and strikes, Bedford even briefly went to Gaudinot's back but returned to top position and continued his assault.  The 2nd round saw much of the same from Bedford overwhelming Gaudinot and nearly securing an arm bar which Gaudinot barely survived.  The 3rd round finally saw Gaudinot give in to the pressure who covered up against the cage as Bedford attacked with knees to the body forcing the end to the fight.
