Bryan Baker defeated Jared Hess by TKO 2:52 3rd Round
My Prediction: Baker by Decision

What Happened: In an entertaining affair seeing both fighters with numerous submission attempts it was Baker who perhaps had the better gas tank and stand up.  Hess who had a really close rear naked choke in the first round seemed to tire as the fight wore on but it was still close going into the 3rd.  As the 3rd started Hess came out swinging but it was Baker securing a body lock and eventually a takedown.  From there Baker was able to take a back mount and started to pound on Hess.  To Hess's credit he held on as long as he could but Baker was just too much and overwhelmed him.


Future matchups to make:  Baker will now face Vitor Vianna in the Semi Finals of the Middleweight tournament in what could potential have some outstanding grappling.

Brian Rogers defeated Victor O'Donnell by TKO 1:56 1st Round

My Prediction: Rogers by TKO 2nd Round

My Rating: $$1/2

What Happened: Rogers was able to overpower O'Donnell right away pushing him back onto the cage.  O'Donnell was able to sneak away from Rogers grip and return the fight to the center of the cage.  From there Rogers was able to hit a nice jab and shrug off a takedown attempt.  Rogers then was able to get O'Donnell up against the cage again with the clinch and under hook and followed that up with a big right kick that hurt O'Donnell.  Rogers then pounced on the fallen O'Donnell with some big hammer fists that ended the fight.

Future matchups to make:  Rogers will now face striker Alexander Shlemenko in a great matchup of the Semi Finals.

Alexander Shlemenko defeated Zelg Galesic by Submission 1:55 1st Round

My Prediction: Shlemenko by TKO 1st Round

My Rating: $$$

What Happened: Surprisingly the 2 standup fighters hit the mat nearly right away in the bout.  They eventually reset in the standup but again it was Shlemenko closing the distance looking for the clinch and had Galesic up against the cage.  From there Shlemenko in yet another surprise in this bout locked in a standing guillotine that literally lifted Galesic off his feet.

Future matchups to make:  Shlemenko will now take on Brian Rogers in what should be an explosive bout.

Victor Vianna defeated Sam Alvey by Split Decision (29-28, 29-28, 28-29)

My Prediction: Vianna by Submission 1st Round
My Rating: $
What Happened: In a tough close fight that seemed to never gain any traction it was Vianna who did enough in the standup and takedown attempts to get the split decision.  Alvey did show he is a tough fight for anyone as he hung tough with the Jiu Jitsu ace with nice scrambles and even had his own arm bar attempt that helped him get the fight back onto the feet.


Future matchups to make: Vianna will now take on Bryan Baker in the Semi Finals of the Middleweight tournament.
