Bellator 46 Recap

Bellator debuted their first of 3 "Summer Series" events with 4 Featherweight tournament quarter-final matchups and as what has been the usual for Bellator they did not disappoint.  4 fights, 2 of them should end up on years end best submission and KO lists.  The other 2 bouts have one finish in a pretty impressive submission and the other in a close decision that was decided by a split.  Needless to say it's going to be a great summer watching Bellator.

Pat Curran defeated by Submission 3:49 1st Round
My Prediction Curran Decision
Curran was looking for an impressive statement after his last bout and he certain made it.  Perhaps the answer to trivia questions for years to come Curran finished Palomino the Peruvian by yes a Peruvian Necktie submission.  Not only was the submission impressive Curran dominated the standup as well dropping Palomino to the mat and following him down. $$$$

Future match ups to make:
Curran- Curran will now face Ronnie Mann in what should a very exciting bout.

Marlon Sandro defeated Genair da Silva by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29)
My Prediction Sandro Submission 1st Round
It may have been a split decision but Sandro still showed flashes to why he is one of the top ranked Featherweights in the world.  Never in too much danger throughout the bout Sandro used his power advantage and being quicker to the punch to take the decision. $$

Future match ups to make:
Sandro- Sandro will now face Nazareno Malegarie in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Nazareno Malegarie defeated Jacob Devree by Submission 1:25 3rd Round
My Prediction Malegarie Decision
Malegarie looked very impressive in his 2nd go around in a Bellator tournament.  He attacked Devree all fight with relentless submission attempts.  Give Devree credit for hanging in as long as he did but from the get go it seemed it would be a disappointment to Malegarie if he didn't get the submission finish.  $$$

Future match ups to make:
Malegarie- Malegarie will now face fellow Brazilian in the 2nd round of the Featherweight tournament.

Ronnie Mann defeated Adam Schindler by TKO 4:14 1st Round
My Prediction Mann TKO 2nd Round
I predicted Mann would get the TKO finish after going to decision he last fight and he sure came through with that prediction.  Schindler did press the action early looking to grapple with Mann but Mann was able to keep the fight standing then floored his opponent with a big left hook, Mann followed the floored Schindler to the mat and followed it up with some hammer strikes for the TKO finish. $$$

Future match ups to make:
Mann- Mann will now face Pat Curran in the 2nd round of the Featherweight tournament.
