Bellator 39 Preview

If you haven't tuned into any of Bellator's season 4 fights you're really missing out some quality entertainment, and Bellator 39 tomorrow night should continue that trend with 4 potentially great fights.

Main Event Lightweight Title
Eddie Alvarez vs Pat Curran
Season 1 vs season 2 champ, this fight was suppose to take place during season 3 but an injury to Curran caused him to pull out of it, Roger Huerta stepped in and replaced Curran (who Curran previously defeated). Alvarez has taken some heat as of late calling out the UFC hype machine and questioning the skill level of their fighters so the pressure and eyes will be on him to perform but really I think thats what he was looking for anyway.

Prediction Alvarez TKO 2nd Round- I think Curran has a really bright future in MMA but at this point I just think Alvarez is the better fighter at this point.

Welterweight Tournament Semi Final
Lyman Good vs Rick Hawn
Really interesting matchup with Good the first Bellator Welterweight champion and Hawn a 2004 Olympic Judoka.

Prediction Good Decision- Good's been here and wants another shot at Ben Askren and get his title back

Lightweight Tournament Semi Final
Toby Imada vs Patricky Freire
Imada the Bellator Lightweight gatekeeper with tons of experience and puts on great fights more often than not draws Brazilian Patricky Freire. I was really looking forward to Freire's American debut after hearing lots about him and his brother and although he did seem to wear down in his fight with McCullough he still was able to put him away. No matter where this fight ends up I think we're all in for a treat

Prediction Freire TKO 3rd Round- Maybe I have high expectations for Freire and can see my self becoming a big fan of his but anyway I'm picking him and this is my pick for Fight Of The Night

Ben Saunders vs Mark Lee
Really wish they had Saunders in the actual Tournament I've always enjoyed his fights, his armbar in the UFC against Ryan Thomas was a thing of beauty and one of my favorites and he followed that up with some brutal knees while finishing off Brandon Wolff. I can honestly say I don't know much about Matt Lee but this is his 2nd fight with Bellator.

Prediction Saunders TKO 1st Round- Saunders just seems too motivated to lose this fight
