Igor Pokarjac defeated Krzystof Soszynski by TKO :35 1st Round
My Prediction: Soszynksi by TKO 2nd Round
My Rating: $$$1/2
What Happened: Fighters high five to start the fight but get right into exchanging some hard punches but it is Pokarjac who is landing some solid straight punches that backed Soszynski up. Pokrajac continued his brutal attack up against the cage which sent Soszynski to the mat and Pokarjac didn't let up on his attack which forced the referee to save the out cold Soszynski.
Constantinos Philippou defeated Jared Hamman by TKO 3:11 1st Round
My Prediction: Hamman by Decision
My Rating: $$$
What Happened: Philippou stayed on the outside to start waiting to pick his shots. When he did unload though Philippou land some big shots 2 big right hands staggered Hamman and sent him to the ground, somehow though he was able to work back to his feet after defending a choke attempt. Back to the feet Philippou continued to attack landing more big shots and sent the fight back to the mat. Again Hamman was able to get back to his feet but Philippou again sent him back against the cage and to the mat which forced the referee to stop the fight.
Dennis Hallman defeated John Makdessi by Submission 2:58 1st Round
My Prediction: Makdessi by Decision
My Rating: $$1/2
What Happened: Hallman rushed for a takedown right away and got it. On the ground Hallman had just as much of advantage as Makdessi had on the feet and he showed it. All Makdessi could do is survive as Hallman reigned down ground and pound while looking for a submission switching from back control to full mount back to back control. Eventually Hallman saw the opportunity and sunk in the rear naked choke that forced Makdessi to tap.
Yves Jabouin defeated Walel Watson by Split Decision (30-27, 29-28, 28-29)
My Prediction: Jabouin by Decision
My Rating: $$$
What Happened: First round saw a mostly standup battle with Watson looking to use his reach with kicks while Jabouin looked to get inside and throw the more powerful shots while at times he looked for leg kicks on his much taller opponent. The 2nd round continued the close stand up battle with both fighters landing on occasion. The final seconds saw Jabouin go for a takedown but it was Watson on the way down that sunk in a close guillotine choke but Jabouin was able to hold on for the round ending bell. 3rd round saw more of striking exchanges with Jabouin landing the better of them with his kicks but it was Watson who threatened with another submission on Jabouin in the form of a D'Arce choke. It seemed to be very close but Jabouin was able to escape and finish the round with more striking exchanges.
Mark Bocek defeated Nik Lentz by Unanimous Decision (30-27,
30-27, 30-27)
My Prediction: Bocek by Decision
My Rating: $1/2
What Happened: As expected the first round saw mostly grappling and although Lentz threatened briefly with a guillotine choke but it was Bocek who controlled most of the fight with great positioning. The 2nd round was nearly identical as the 1st with Lentz attempting a guillotine choke but Bocek escaping and controlling the rest of the round on the ground. To no surprise the 3rd was more of the same with Bocek on top but not inflicting much damage or able to improve his position for submissions.
Jake Hecht defeated Rich Attonito by TKO 1:10 2nd Round
My Prediction: Attonito by Decision
My Rating: $$1/2
What Happened: The first round saw Attonito get the advantage by getting Hecht on his back but he was not able to create much offensive. The 2nd round saw Attonito push Hecht up against the cage looking for a takedown but it was Hecht who landed 2 elbows on Attonito who was hurt by the strikes and dropped to the mat. Hecht jumps on the opportunity and swarms Attonito with strikes which forced the referee to stop the fight.
John Cholish defeated Mitch Clarke by TKO 4:36 2nd Round
My Prediction: Cholish by Decision
My Rating: $$1/2
What Happened: First round saw alot of ground work with Cholish most likely getting the round by being the more active fighter which included a very nice rolling knee bar attempt. The 2nd round saw Cholish land some effective strikes on the feet but it was the ground game that would decide this fight. A very quick scramble saw Cholish use a kimura attempt to end up in full mount, from there he unloaded some ground and pound which Clarke was only able to cover up against and eventually forced the referee to call a stop to the fight.
