UFC 135 Confidence Picks

Welcome to the debut post of my confidence picks of UFC 135.  Basically all I'm doing is going off my predictions i've made in my preview posts and rating how confident I am in each of those predictions.  For now i'll just be saving these posts for UFC events but could possible expand to other events.

Prelims

1. Travis Browne vs Rob Broughton
My Prediction: Browne by TKO 1st Round
I'm looking at this fight as just a warmup for Browne and he enters into the top 10-15 in the rankings, get by Broughton and it's some big matchups for him in the future.

2. Jon Jones vs Quinton Jackson
My Prediction: Jones by TKO 3rd Round
I'd like to believe that Jackson has some different gameplan up his sleeve just to make the fight interesting but Jones is on top of the world right now and don't think anyone will figure him out for a while.

3. Josh Koscheck vs Matt Hughes
My Prediction: Koscheck by Decision
The only thing I'm not confident in is will Hughes be able to take this to a decision or will Koscheck get the stoppage.

4. Takeya Mizugaki vs Cole Escovedo
My Prediction: Mizugaki by Decision
Mizugaki has the standup and submission defense to over come Escovedo.

5. Tony Ferguson vs Aaron Riley
My Prediction: Ferguson by Decision
Riley should again play gate keeper for a TUF winner and a nice name for Ferguson's record.

6. Junior Assuncao vs Eddie Yagin
My Prediction: Assuncao by Submission 2nd Round
Is it too much too soon for Yagin, who's coming off his biggest win of his career which was an upset at a regional show.

7. James Te Huna vs Ricardo Romero
My Prediction: Romero by Decision
Just seems like too even of a bout with 2 guys at the same point in their careers to really call a favorite.

8. Tim Boetsch vs Nick Ring
My Prediction: Boetsch by Decision
We've seen Ring get away with an iffy decision before, just wonder if his grappling ability will sway the judges yet again.

9. Nate Diaz vs Takanori Gomi
My Prediction: Diaz by Submission 2nd Round
Never underestimate someone with that much power in their hands...obviously i'm talking about Gomi.

10. Mark Hunt vs Ben Rothwell
My Prediction: Hunt by TKO 1st Round
So my favoritism leaks out sometimes in my picks, I love Hunt but if he doesn't get this one over with fairly quickly he could be in for a tough night.
