1. Ian McCall vs Darrell Montague at Tachi Palace Fights 10 on August 5th
Montague will look to defend his flyweight title in the main event against Ian McCall which is the main event at Tachi Palace Fights 10. Montague has now won 6 fights in a row most recently picking up the flyweight title with a win over Ulysses Gomez. McCall or "Uncle Creepy" has now won 3 in row since losing to currently UFC Bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. The UFC will eventually be introducing the Flyweight division in their promotion and it goes without saying they will be looking at the winner of this fight or most likely both of these competitors to be a part of their roster, because of that this fight gets the top spot for this month's best fight under the radar.
2. Glover Teixeira vs Antonio Mendes at Shooto Brazil 24 on August 5th
The main event at Shooto Brazil 24 features a 220 pound South American championship between Teixeira and former UFC fighter Mendes. Teixeira is on an impressive 10 fight win streak that dates all the way back to 2005. Mendes who had seen some tough times, recently losing 5 in a row but since then he has won 2 in a row.
3. Pat Healy vs Eric Wisely at Strikeforce Challengers 18 on August 12th
Healy is coming off his win over Lyle Beerbohm which many consider one of the better fights of the year so far. Wisely has won 6 fights in a row and will be making his Strikeforce debut. Strikeforce is in need of some new challengers in pretty much all their divisions a the winner in this bout could see him self in a higher profile fight in the near future.
4. Emanuel Newton vs Ricky Shivers at Shark Fights 18 on August 19th
A 3 fight winning streak will come to an end when these 2 Light Heavyweights meet at the co-main event at Shark Fights 18.
5. Joe Soto vs Eddie Yagin Tachi Palace Fights 10 on August 5th
Soto looks to win another Featherweight title after losing his Bellator title to Joe Warren in his last bout. With the Featherweight division still new in the UFC fold a win over Soto for Yagin could turn alot of heads. Tweet
