May 15th, 1998 UFC 17: Redemption took place at the Mobile Civic Center in Mobile, Alabama. The main event had Frank Shamrock defend his middleweight title against Jeremy Horn which Frank won via knee bar. Mark Coleman was suppose to compete in his comeback to regain the title against Randy Couture but it ended in a devastating head kick KO by Pete Williams when Couture was forced out due to injury. Dan Henderson was victorious against Carlos Newton in what was the finals in a 4 man tournament aside from UFC 23 it was the last UFC to have a tournament format in an event. It was also future UFC Hall Of Famer and Light Heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell's debut with the UFC.
May 15th, 2010 Strikeforce: Heavy Artillery took place at the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Missouri. Main event featured Alistair Overeem returning to Strikeforce for the first time since 2007 to defend his heavyweight title against Brett Rogers. Overeem won the fight via TKO 3:40 into the 1st Round. Also featured on the card was Andrei Arlovski winning by decision over Antonio Silva, Ronaldo Souza beating Joey Villasenor by decision and Roger Gracie winning by rear naked choke over Kevin Randleman.
May 17th, 1996 UFC 9: Motor City Madness took place at the Cobo Arena in Detroit Michigan. The first UFC event to not feature a tournament format. Probably most famous for almost not happening as Senator John McCain was petitioning against the UFC but after a legal battle in Detroit courts up until 4pm the day of the event it was allowed to continue with modified rules including no close handed strikes. Main event was Dan Severn vs Ken Shamrock which many considered one of most worst fights in UFC history partially due to the modified rules.

The one time middleweight title contender against Murlio Bustamante has a career record of 22-8 with notable wins over Jeremy Horn, Pat Miletich, and Phil Baroni
May 17th, 1980-Alistair Overeem
"The Demolition Man" is the current Strikeforce Heavyweight champion, Dream Heavyweight champion and K-1 World Grand Prix champion. One of the most accomplished martial artists being one of few to hold a major Kicking boxing and MMA titles simultaneously. Alistair recently claimed that his great-great grandfather was William III of the Netherlands who was King of Netherlands during the 1800's. The Golden Glory trained fighter has a MMA record of 34-11 notable wins over Brett Rogers, Vitor Belfort (twice) and Sergei Kharitonov in MMA and has beat the likes of Peter Aerts, Gokhan Saki, Ewerton Teixeria and Badr Hari in kickboxing.

May 18th, 1979 Gabriel Gonzaga
"Napao" which in english means "Big Nose" is a highly decorated BJJ practitioner having won the 2004 Mundials. Probably best known for his devastating head kick over Mirko Cro Cop which earned him a title shot against Randy Couture which he lost by TKO in the 3rd Round but not before he broke Randy's arm with a kick. Sporting a 11-5 career MMA record he has notable wins over Mirko Cro Cop and Justin McCully.
May 19th, 1981- Georges St. Pierre
Hailing from Saint-Isodore, Quebec, Canada "Rush" or "GSP" is arguably one of if not the top pound for pound MMA fighers in the world. The current UFC Welterweight champion has won Canadian Athlete Of The Year 2 years in a row (2009, 2010) by Rogers Sportsnet. He also was awarded the 2009 Fighter Of The Year at the 2009 World MMA awards. Holding an impressive 22-2 record while currently on a 9 fight win streak his lone 2 loses came by the hands of Matt Hughes and Matt Serra. The long list of notable wins for GSP include B.J. Penn (twice), Matt Hughes (twice), Josh Koscheck (twice), and Jon Fitch.
