Strikeforce Diaz vs Daley Preview

Strikeforce is set for another event and their first under the Zuffa banner. Not sure if we'll see any significant changes to the on screen product but we are being treated to a pretty entertaining card non the less. On a personal note 3 of my favorites Daley, Mousasi and Kawajiri are fighting in 3 of the 4 main card fights but I'll keep it as unbiased as humanly possible.

Main Event Welterweight Championship

Nick Diaz vs Paul Daley- Diaz the champ is one quite a roll having won 9 straight. Daley looks to continue his post Zuffa (whoops!) career having won 4 in a row. Diaz has the obvious advantage on the ground but will his ego get the best of him and decide to stand with Daley where I think Semtex has the advantage.

Prediction Daley KO 2nd Round- I think Daley has enough take down defense if Diaz even decides to go that route to eventually KO Nick

Lightweight Championship

Gilbert Melendez vs Tatsuya Kawajiri- The rematch from a 2006 bout that Melendez won by decision. Kawajiri has mentioned that he hasn't used a cage in training for this fight will Melendez use that to his advantage and take The Crusher down? Kawajiri will probably want to turn this into a slug fest. The first fight was pretty entertaining and I think we could be in for a pretty competitive fight

Prediction Melendez Decision- The Champ will retain his title using take downs to his advantage

Gegard Mousasi vs Keith Jardine- Jardine takes this fight on short notice having won his last 2 but had lost his last 5 previous to that. Mousasi has won 2 in a row after his uninspired decision lose to King Mo.

Prediction Gegard Mousasi TKO 2nd Round- Mousasi gets some big strikes in and follows up onto the ground with more strikes and will look bored doing it.

Shinya Aoki vs Lyle Beerbohm- Aoki looking for victory once again in his return to the US after his decision lose to Gilbert Melendez. Beerbohm coming off his first defeat a spirited decision to Pat Healy. This fight has to hit the mat! I mean really who wants to see these guys stand and bang with the level of ground games they both have. The winner should get the right to continue wearing "the pants" (or the loser depending on your opinion of said pants)

Prediction Shinya Aoki Submission 2nd Round- Big step up in competition for Fancy Pants and I think Aoki will be too much.
