Common Opponents:
Rick Story
Alves lost by Decision at UFC 130 5/28/11
Kampmann won by Split Decision at UFC 139 11/19/11
How They Got Here: Kampmann is coming off his split decision victory over Rick Story at UFC 139 which halted a 2 fight skid. Alves is coming off a win over Papy Abedi at UFC 138 but still has lost 3 of his last 5.
What To Expect: It's not an outrageous expectations to think these 2 Welterweights could have a fight of the night performance. This fight should be decided on the feet with both fighters having great striking backgrounds but with Alves having the edge. Kampmann's advantage could really be in submissions but could find some difficulty in getting Alves to the mat on any traditional sort of takedown attempt. If he could get the fight into the 3rd round and tire out Alves there could be an opening for him to work those mentioned submissions.

How They Got Here: Benavediz is making the drop to the flyweight division after either being stuck with having 2 loses to current champion Dominick Cruz or his teammate Urijah Faber the divisions champion. Benavediz is however on a 3 fight win streak since his last loss to Cruz with the last win coming at UFC Live 5 over Eddie Wineland. Urushitani is making his UFC debut and like McCall is considered one of the best flyweights in the world, he is currently on a 3 fight win streak.
What To Expect: Takedowns, takedowns and more takedowns from Benavidez is a pretty likely scenario for this fight. That isn't to say Urushitani is completely outmatched in this fight as his strengths do plan against Benavidez's as he is a good striker and has decent takedown defense. If this was Urushitani's 2nd or 3rd UFC fight with a few wins under his belt rather than his debut the odds would possibly be a little less lopsided but for now he will have to play the role of major spoiler if he wants that first UFC win.
My Prediction: Benavidez by Decision

Common Opponents:
Dominick Cruz
Johnson lost by Unanimous Decision at UFC Live 6 10/1/11
McCall lost by Unanimous Decision at WEC 38 1/25/09
How They Got Here: Johnson is making the drop to the flyweight division after a 4-2 record as a bantamweight with Zuffa with his 2 loses being against Brad Pickett and his most recent fight against bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz. McCall is making his UFC debut being considered one of the best flyweights in the world who currently is riding a 3 fight winning streak with his last loss also being against Dominick Cruz at WEC 38.
What To Expect: Both Johnson and McCall set a fast pace and will obviously be looking to do so in this fight. McCall is the better striker and shows more explosiveness so Johnson will be looking to get this fight on the ground and work some ground and pound. A ground fight with McCall won't be a walk in the park though for Johnson and McCall will be tough to keep on his back and if an opening presented it self McCall will look for the finish more often than not.
My Prediction: Johnson by Decision

How They Got Here: McGee last saw action at UFC Fight Night 25 where he defeated Dongi Yang by Decision which extended the Ultimate Fighter winner's winning streak to 8 straight fights. Philippou is coming off his TKO win over Jared Hamman at UFC 140 which was his second straight win.
What To Expect: McGee is perhaps the more well rounded fighter but will want to take this fight to the mat and avoid the power Philippou possesses in his hands. Philippou will want to do just that, strike with McGee and turn it into a brawl of shorts and land some heavy strikes.
My Prediction: McGee by Decision
