UFC 88: Breakthrough took place on September 6th, 2008 at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Headlined by a Light Heavyweight bout featured former champion Chuck Liddell taking on future champion Rashad Evans. Evans was able to knock out the UFC Hall Of Famer 1:51 into the 2nd round and securing a title shot against Forrest Griffin which he would end up winning as well. Rich Franklin knocked out Matt Hamill in the co-main event while Dan Henderson, Nate Marquardt and Dong Hyun Kim were also victorious on the main card.
UFC 75: Champion vs Champion took place on September 7th, 2007 at the 02 Arena in London, England. Aired on Spike TV via tape delay the main event featured the last UFC title fight to be broadcasted on free tv. In a title unification bout UFC champion Quinton "Rampage" Jackson took on Pride champion Dan Henderson. Rampage would end winning the bout in a close decision that went back and forth, the loss was Henderson;s 2nd consecutive title unification bout. In the co-main event Michael Bisping won a conterversial split decision to fellow TUF 3 cast mate Matt Hamill. Chieck Kongo defeated Mirko Cro Cop while Marcus Davis and Houston Alexander rounded out the main card winners. At the time this event set the record for highest ratings for any MMA event broadcasted in North America.
UFC 3: The American Dream took place on September 9th, 1995 at the Grady Cole Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. This event featured an 8 man tournament and was the first UFC event that allowed a referee to call a stop to a bout. Keith Hackey, Harold Howard, Ken Shamrock and Royce Gracie all won their first round fights to set up an exciting 2nd round to the tournament. But it wasn't to be as both Gracie and Hackney had to withdraw before the 2nd round started and Shamrock eventually withdrew himself as well after getting a win in the 2nd round. The final bout ended up being Steve Jennum taking on Harold Howard, Jennum made quick work of Howard winning by TKO 1:31 into the fight.
Pride Final Conflict Absolute took place on September 10th, 2006 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan. Event featured the semi-finals and finals of the Pride Open Weight Grand Prix. The 2 semi-final bouts featured Josh Barnett taking on Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Mirko Cro Cop taking on Wanderlei Silva. Barnett was able to squeak by Nogueira with a split decision victory and it was Cro Cop winning in a more spectacular fashion beating Silva by a patented head kick knock out. The finals featured a 3 meeting between Cro Cop and Barnett and it was Cro Cop yet again coming up the victor, this time by TKO and was crowned the tournament champion. Also taking place during the event were matches between Mauricio Rua vs Cyrille Diabate, Ricardo Arona vs Alistair Overeem and Sergei Kharitonov vs Aleksander Emelianenko. Rua, Arona and Emelianenko were all victorious in those bouts.

Renato Sobral born on September 7th, 1975 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
"Babalu" is a former UFC title contender and former Strikeforce Light Heavyweight champion with a career record of 36-9. The nickname Babalu was given to him after from a brand of bubble gum he used to chew (Bubbaloo). The BJJ black belt under Carlson Gracie Jr who now trains at Kings MMA is probably most known for his last bout in the UFC against David Heath where he purposely left in a rear naked choke after Heath tapped and the referee attempting to stop the fight. The resulting action by Sobral cost him his job with the UFC as well as fined by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. Notable wins for Sobral include the impressive IFC tournament win where he defeated Trevor Prangley, Jeremy Horn and Mauricio Rua in one night, Robbie Lawler, Chael Sonnen, and Mike Van Arsdale are also some that have fallen to Sobral.
Jose Aldo born on September 9th, 1986 in Manaus, Brazil
"Junior" is the current UFC Featherweight Champion, former WEC Featherweight champion and has a career record of 19-1. Currently on an impressive 12 fight win streak with 7 of them coming by way of KO, The Nova Unaio and Blackhouse trained fighter was named the 2009 Fighter Of The Year by Sherdog and the 2010 Fighter Of The Year at the World MMA Awards and is the consensus #1 Featherweight and top pound for pound fighter in the world. Notable wins in his young and already impressive career include Mark Hominick, Urijah Faber, Mike Brown and his incredible 8 second, double knee KO of Cub Swanson.
Mirko Filipovic born on September 10th, 1974 in Vinkovci, Yugoslavia
Filipovic gained the nickname that he is most known by "Cro Cop" (short for Crotian Cop) after being a a member of Croatia's elite police force the Lucko Anti-Terrorist Unit. Cro Cop was also a member of Croatia's parliment between 2003 and 2007. With a career record of 27-9-2 with 20 coming by way of KO he was most known for his devastated head kick ko's and was famously quoted as saying "Right kick, hospital, left kick cemetery. The 2006 Pride Grand Prix winner was also successful in kickboxing before his full time entrance into MMA having a career record of 16-7 and being the runner up in the 1999 K-1 Grand Prix. Notable wins for Mirko include Pat Barry, Josh Barnett x3, Wanderlei Silva, Mark Coleman, Kevin Randleman, Kazushi Sakuraba and perhaps his 2 most famous KO victims Igor Vovchanchyn and Aleksander Emelianenko.
