Daniel Straus defeated Kenny Foster via submission (guillotine) 3:48 Round 3
Straus seems to be a legit contender for Joe Warren's title. We all know Warren's future aspiration's but he could find some serious trouble with Straus. This was a pretty competitive fight but Straus really wasn't in any danger with Foster and sunk in the choke early in the 3rd round. $$
Future match ups to make
Straus makes it into the featherweight final and awaits the winner of the Freire Reis winner.
Zach Makovsky defeated Chad Robichaux 2:02 3rd Round
Robichaux probably found Makovsky no fun at all. Robichaux, the 11 year marine vet and also suffered from PTS showed tons of heart surviving 2 deep submission attempts by Zack in the 2nd round. The first being a real tight rear naked choke the second an arm triangle attempt but Robichaux was able to "answer the phone" getting his arm in against his head and Makovsky had to eventually let the hold go. But in the 3rd Makovsky continued to be too much getting full mount, Robichaux turns but Makovsky continued to reign down unanswered ground and pound. $$1/2
Future match ups to make
Makovsky will probably be looking to defend his title next time out against next seasons bantamweight tournament winner. I'm pretty sure we'll see Robichaux back in some sort of form in Bellator.
Patricio Freire defeated Wilson Reis KO 3:29 3rd Round
Going into the 3rd it was probably safe to say it was a round a piece. Freire winning his round with striking and Reis with his ground work. Unfortunately for Reis the 3rd, like every round starts standing. Freire was winning the exchanges until he had Reis backed up against the cage and landed 7 consecutive rights and lefts until Reis fell with one final left hand to the jaw. Very impressive. $$$
Future match ups to make
Freire will now take on Daniel Staus for the Bellator featherweight tournament final.
Joe Warren defeated Marcos Galvao by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)
Well are these a surprise any more? I had Galvao winning the 1st and 2nd round Warren winning the 3rd. Jimmy Smith had the same score card but we're all left wondering about this one..especially the 30-27 score?! really?! not even going to give out my Cash rating for this fight when I'm left felling it owes ME money.
Future match ups to make
Warren will face the winner of the Staus vs Freire featherweight final.
