Antonio Rogerio Nogueria vs Phil Davis
I don't think this fight changes my opinion of Davis getting a title shot in his future, I did say it wouldn't be until 2012. Lil Nog's takedown defense was more than impressive and when Davis finally did get him down mid way into the 2nd Davis had really no answer for his guard and wrist control. It wasn't until Nog pushed and created a scramble that Davis got his back and finished the round ground and pounding and kneeing a turtled Nog. I don't look at this fight as a negative at all for Davis as much of the live crowd thought it was pretty boring, I really enjoyed the chess match and Nog is a tough fight. $$3/4
Future matchups to make
Davis- alot of the top guys are booked up, but depending on his drug test situation Thiago Silva
Nogueria- how about he enters what I call the Retirement (or Legends) tour and take interesting matchups that don't have much title implications to them such as Rich Franklin
Dan Hardy vs Anthony Johnson
Hardy seemed to be the most popular fighter on the guard got a great response from the crowd. I was looking pretty good in the first round with my prediction that Rumble would use his kicks, ground and pound and possibly wrestling to take out Hardy, but Hardy is a tough guy to put away. I do respect Anthony for coming out and saying that ring rust could of been a factor and the win was the most important thing, hopefully that he's got his legs under him we'll see a more explosive Rumble in the future.
Future Matchups to make
Johnson- he's just on the brink of the top 10 with this win, how about him and Diego Sanchez go at it?
Hardy- Mike Pyle
Amir Sadollah vs Damarques Johnson
Pretty much no surprise here, perhaps the short notice for Johnson played a factor but Amir was winning this fight regardless. Personally I love getting that arm trapped of my opponent across their face, have alot of options to set up with that and Amir choose strikes to finish off Damarques- $$1/2
Matchups to make
Sadollah- fellow victorious welterweight from the same card John Hathaway
Johnson- TJ Grant
Leonard Garcia vs Chan Sung Yung
The only fight I got wrong on the whole card and wow what a finish, a guy with a great nickname like Korean Zombie pretty much gets an instant fan base (there were ALOT of people wearing Zombie t shirts) but the guy puts on great fights, first ever Twister submission in UFC history can't go wrong with that- $$$3/4
Matchups to make
Yung- Erik Koch would be great
Garcia- still a tough competitor for anyone Zhang Tie Quan or his original fight against Nam Phan would be entertaining
